AFF was officially founded in 1998 by Irshad Haque, a principal scientist, formerly working at the National Aerospace Laboratories (NAL) in Bangalore, India; however, R&D work commenced in the late 1970s, making Asian Foundry Filters the pioneer in glass fiber filters in India and a reliable domestic supplier to auto-component manufacturers that were importing the product.

Irshad devoted himself to achieving the Holy Grail in foundry filter manufacturing - almost NIL volatile content in the filter, non-flammability at any temperature and a design suited for a wide range of molten non-ferrous metal/alloy filtering applications. Castings produced by using AFF's fumeless glass fiber filters exhibited nil defects and passed industrial non-destructive tests. Subsequent benchmarking with other leading foundry filters proved that his filters were of vastly superior quality on these critical benchmarks.

Thus, was born, Asian Foundry Filters in 1998 - the world leader in foundry filter technology - a position AFF retains till date with a staggering year-on-year growth on the back of preferential demand from the leading foundries and component manufacturers across the world. Today, Asian Foundry Filters is certified by some of the best foundries and component manufacturing companies worldwide. Apart from a few other countries, AFF Foundry Filters were approved for superior quality by automotive component manufacturers in Japan and Thailand in 2001; USA in 2003; Germany in 2004; and Mexico in 2009.

Headquartered in Bangalore, India, AFF has adopted highly innovative manufacturing technologies that sustain the company's position at the forefront of the region's competitive market. Earning a solid reputation for quality, AFF continues to incorporate the latest technologies and cost effective solutions into its distinct manufacturing processes, supporting its growth and development in the industry.
